As a Trainer/Facilitator for BC/Hockey Canada, Glen has certified over 1500 coaches in the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association over the last 5 years. Glen is an articulate communicator and knowledgeable trainer with an uncanny ability to connect with his audience & draw them into his story. He has a knack for seamlessly backing up key concepts with relevant anecdotes and research. You will find Glen’s ideas on ‘kids in sport’ are not only thought provoking, but enjoyable as he communicates with a great sense of passion and humour.
With a degree in Human Kinetics from UBC and as a result of a successful life-time of involvement in sport at all levels, Glen brings a unique “360 degree view” of what it takes to support players to enjoy the game from the recreational to the high performance level.
Glen’s perspectives are gleamed from experiences as a celebrated youth athlete – which included honours at highly competitive levels of various sports including municipal banners; tournament wins in Hockey and Baseball, as well as provincial titles in both Football and Rugby – to 20 + successful years of coaching youth across multiple sports, and finally as a parent providing support to two child athletes of his own.
Glen’s belief in focusing on the FUNdamentals of the game, including inspiring a shift towards a greater sense of respect for these fundamentals and away from the current game-centric and winning at all costs thinking is both refreshing and inspiring.
